ARTESIA - A Rotating Target wheel for Experiments with Superheavy Isotopes at GSI using Actinides

At the chemistry beamline, A Rotating Target wheel for Experiments with Superheavy Isotopes at GSI using Actinides (ARTESIA) is installed, which allows accepting high beam intensities for experiments that do not require a recoil separator. The isotopes of interest are thermalized in a gas-filled recoil chamber directly behind the target and are available for transport, e.g., to the chemistry setup COMPACT or the ROMA detection apparatus.
